Starch Modification Enzyme to Convert Native Starch to Modified Starch
Tex Biosciences is providing enzymes to paper mills for reduction in chemical dosage and processing time while achieving the benefit of high-quality paper manufacturing.
Texzyme SM is an amylase-based enzyme used to convert native starch to modified starch in size press application for pulp and paper industry.
Composition
Derived from amylase enzyme. The bacterial activity is in the range of 2000, 6000 & 10000 units / ml.
Mode of Action
For surface sizing in paper manufacturing with native maize or tapioca starches. We modify the native starch to oxidized starch with the help of amylase-based enzyme which breaks the molecular weight of starch into smaller particles and the cell wall of the starch is being broken by the amylase-based enzyme. Thus, the viscosity is controlled, and paper mill can apply uniformly on the surface of paper.
Benefits
- On-site modification of native starch for size press / coating application
- Starch solution viscosity control and trouble free process
- Substantial cost savings
- Less dosage of enzyme and easy handling
- Smooth machine runnability
Dosage 20 to 50 gms / ton of native starch as per viscosity and solids required
Available Packing 50 kg HDPE Drums
Conclusion
Paper mills are achieving quality parameters by using our enzymes in their onsite native starch modification.
